Congress and Global Warming Global Warming

Confronting Global Warming Through Federal Legislation

Capitol BuildingGlobal warming is the single biggest threat to wildlife, which is why the National Wildlife Federation is working hard to move the U.S. Congress to pass strong legislation to confront this challenge. Elected officials in the Senate and the House of Representatives are focusing on two key types of bills that can have significant impact on global warming:

  • Global Warming Legislation -- requires power plants and other industries to reduce the carbon emissions that cause global warming.

  • Energy Legislation -- jumpstarts the clean energy technologies needed to sharply reduce pollution levels, through measures such as tougher fuel economy standards for cars.

Make sure your elected officials are standing up for wildlife!
